Lieutenant Lucas Tate is a 20 year law enforcement veteran and is married to the love of his life, Ashlee (also an Officer) and together they have 3 sons. He previously served with the Owen County Sheriff’s Department for 3 years before transferring to the Bloomington Police Department where he has been for the last 17 years.  He is currently assigned as the Night Shift Lieutenant.  He is the Team Leader for the Crisis Negotiation Team and has been a Hostage and Crisis Negotiator since 2013.  He also serves as the President of the Indiana Association of Hostage and Crisis Negotiators (IAHCN) and also sits on the board for the National Council of Negotiation Associations (NCNA).

  • Law Enforcement Track: Merging Operations

    The group will elaborate on the internal collaboration between PSWs and LEOs. The panelists will discuss the referral process and on-scene collaboration, utilization of PSWs on negotiations, officers’ experiences with integrating PSWs into the department and how PSWs can ease the transition into the department.
